Treatments
Your physician may recommend one of several treatments to ensure your overall health.
Diagnostic treatments, such as surgical biopsies, remove a portion or all of a lump or suspicious area seen in a mammogram. Surgical treatments for a breast cancer may include breast surgery, lymph node surgery and reconstructive surgery. Other surgical treatments are also available for women who do not have a cancerous condition, but who want to remove breast tissue of personal concern. Medical Oncology treatments such as hormone therapy or chemotherapy, as well as Radiation Oncology, may be used to help your body stop the growth of cancer cells.
No matter which course of treatment you and your physician pursue, the Carol Ann Read Breast Health Center provides technical excellence in a respectful and caring environment. Please select from the links below to learn more about the various treatments available to you.
